Autumn has grown to become my favorite season by default (excluding Daylight Savings - why, may I ask, are we still doing this??) due to a strong disdain for being overly hot, sweaty and bothered throughout the sweltering summer months and my zero tolerance for the brrrrr! of winter. I'm simply OVER constantly raising my shoulders to my earlobes as if that REALLY blocks the cold from reaching my neck.
Nature tends to show-off during the autumn months; fall foliage is in full-effect, the air is brisk and the sun has an 'orange touch' to it. For most, it's holiday prepping time, for me, one thing comes to mind: Photography!
I've been tinkering with the idea of a grey background (instead of red), but aside from that, the picture on top (if you're viewing from a mobile device/on the left - if viewing from a desktop) is the overwhelming favorite between the images above. Out with the old, in with the new.
There's been a renewed energy for restarting the podcast after a year and some months away. In my latest episode, 'When Podcasters Disappear and Return Again' (episode 38), I go into detail as to why I went M.I.A. ('Missing in Action,' not Miami, although a trip to South Beach wouldn't have been bad🌴). For those of you reading, it simply came down to being uninspired, competing in an ocean of a TRILLION other podcasters vying for attention. I've never been the chasing type.
When a market becomes oversaturated, the question of 'How can I stand out from the rest?' floats through your head. Not once have I ever doubted my creative abilities, but I've oftentimes struggled with trusting the attention span of others. Especially with technology running amuck. There is always something new brewing, something more 'in your face' and crass tugging away at your attention ultimately leading to a resetting point for the creator. Now, the creator must decide on whether to succumb to the pressures of keeping up with the latest trends (for the sake of continuity and growing their audience) or sticking to their original blueprint and maintaining their already-loyal fan base. Creating content can be a ruthless game!
As noted on the podcast, talking into a microphone comes naturally. This isn't new. I've been doing it ever since my childhood and it has always been enjoyable. That's the quick answer as to why I've decided to return. This stuff is fun! It generates a sudden rush of happiness and the microphone has always been berry, berry good to me. Plus, I mildly love the feedback, whether from listeners who reach out or when simply analyzing the numbers each week. But the key to this all? It's fun and I get a kick out of providing a different perspective on life, sports and everything in between. That's the name of the game for yours truly.
I'll be releasing an episode every Monday here on out. It's a new season - make sure you tune in!

As the temperature soared over the 4th of July holiday weekend, I decided to go picture crazy, snapping away at any and everything walking (or flying). The current pandemic wouldn't stop beach goers (nor Trump supporters) as the number of Covid-19 cases have apparently risen over recent weeks. Yes, it is already July, in what has been quite an eventful year (or uneventful - however you choose to view it), but here's the caveat: Baseball returns in a few weeks with a scheduled 60 game season. In addition, the NBA hopes to resume their 2019-2020 regular season to crown its champion after a near four month lay-off. Speaking of four months - there's Election Day - coming soon to a Smart TV near you. FYI, Kanye West has just thrown his name into the presidential hat, which was already a disaster to begin with. This should be fun (said no one EVER). Personally, I've seen better candidates running for student government.
2020 will EASILY go down in the history books as one of the most (fill in the blank) years to date. The meme below says it all.
Dish #2: Chopped Italian Sausage, Onions and Peppers Stir Fry with Pasta Noodles
Very satisfying meal, but something was missing. I couldn't quite put my finger on it. And then, it hit me...
Avocado! (with impeccable dancing skills - said no one). Yes, an avocado - the missing link. Seemingly, these bad boys go with EVERYTHING and I dropped the ball not including one with this meal. Maybe next time. I haven't quite figured out what I'll be whipping up next, but the cooking streak will continue...
Smothered chicken w/ gravy
I told you, I'm coming out stronger once this pandemic passes. I fully intend on razor-sharpening my skills in every area imaginable - one which includes cooking. This is just a little something I prepared on Mom's Day weekend.
Smothered chicken w/ gravy over yellow rice w/ a side of broccoli.
Aside from my home office, the kitchen has quickly become my favorite chill spot during quarantine-life. In fact, learning new recipes almost gives me the same rush as writing. Good news for my taste buds, bad news for my gut.
More dishes to come...
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
This time last year, I was spending endless hours putting the finishing touches on my first published book. This year? I'm taking pictures like someone desperately seeking a TMZ contract.
Summer is NEAR (meaning, it doesn't officially arrive until JUNE 21st!), which for many means vacation time, frequent visits to the beach, amusement parks, outdoor activities and more. As we gear up for Summer 2019, here are a few recent pics (courtesy of yours truly) to tickle your fancy.

Follow your passion! Words that I vehemently live by. Photography is just one of many, from yours truly. Not only will this blog feature random thoughts, opinions and POV's, but plenty of photography. Laugh, frown, rejoice, whichever mood these pics put you in.
More to come...
