Renewed Energy I've been tinkering with the idea of a grey background (instead of red), but aside from that, the picture on top (if you're viewing from a mobile device/on the left - if viewing from a desktop) is the overwhelming favorite between the images above. Out with the old, in with the new.
There's been a renewed energy for restarting the podcast after a year and some months away. In my latest episode, 'When Podcasters Disappear and Return Again' (episode 38), I go into detail as to why I went M.I.A. ('Missing in Action,' not Miami, although a trip to South Beach wouldn't have been bad🌴). For those of you reading, it simply came down to being uninspired, competing in an ocean of a TRILLION other podcasters vying for attention. I've never been the chasing type. When a market becomes oversaturated, the question of 'How can I stand out from the rest?' floats through your head. Not once have I ever doubted my creative abilities, but I've oftentimes struggled with trusting the attention span of others. Especially with technology running amuck. There is always something new brewing, something more 'in your face' and crass tugging away at your attention ultimately leading to a resetting point for the creator. Now, the creator must decide on whether to succumb to the pressures of keeping up with the latest trends (for the sake of continuity and growing their audience) or sticking to their original blueprint and maintaining their already-loyal fan base. Creating content can be a ruthless game! As noted on the podcast, talking into a microphone comes naturally. This isn't new. I've been doing it ever since my childhood and it has always been enjoyable. That's the quick answer as to why I've decided to return. This stuff is fun! It generates a sudden rush of happiness and the microphone has always been berry, berry good to me. Plus, I mildly love the feedback, whether from listeners who reach out or when simply analyzing the numbers each week. But the key to this all? It's fun and I get a kick out of providing a different perspective on life, sports and everything in between. That's the name of the game for yours truly. I'll be releasing an episode every Monday here on out. It's a new season - make sure you tune in! *The 'Can I Be Ernest?' podcast is widely available on all streaming services delivering podcasts* Comments are closed.
